Highway 7 recently completed a key fashion shoot for the spring/summer 2008 collection. Highway 7 is one of the most successful young Australian labels, a collection of beautiful up-market streetwear that currently retails all over the world. The shoot was extremely important as the images have been released globally to leading fashion industry buyers and to editors and stylists from the world’s top magazines. We sought out the best people in the industry to work on the shoot and were delighted that Michelle agreed to work with us to develop and execute the make-up concepts. Michelle’s technical skills, creative input and knowledge were invaluable.

From the beginning we were very impressed with Michelle’s work. She understood our creative drive and worked with us to develop specific looks that would enhance the strength of the visual story. Michelle successfully worked together with the hair team to create four completely fresh looks for two female models, each look perfectly complimenting the fashion in the sequence. She also provided natural flawless make-up for two male models. Michelle was extremely professional through every stage of the shoot: she communicated well with the artistic director and prepared excellent pre-shoot notes, complete with visual story boards and in-depth written specifications of each look. Michelle attended a pre-shoot planning meeting where she presented her ideas and she also discussed a timeline and shot plan with the other members of the team, including the photographer and hair stylists to ensure that best use was made of our time throughout the day.

On the day Michelle was an extremely valuable member of the team, arriving promptly for the pre-dawn call time and working in an organised and professional manner throughout the day and through into the night. Michelle was excellent on location, working in a variety of conditions including meeting the challenges of outdoor and even night-time retouches. Michelle came well-equipped with an excellent kit and all of the incidental products that she needed to create the very best looks. She worked tidily in her own space, keeping her kit well organised and compactly arranged and taking excellent care of the irreplaceable fashion. Michelle also ensured that the model were well looked after and comfortable as she worked on them.

Michelle’s contribution helped to ensure that the images produced were of an extremely high standard, we were extremely pleased with the photographs from the shoot and have received very positive feedback from leading people in the industry who have complimented the excellent standard of the work. Michelle was a pleasure to work with and was popular with every member of the team. We have already recommended Michelle to other fashion and beauty clients and look forward to working with her again soon.

Michelle Hargreaves from the Frampton Institute of Cinemagraphic Makeup was called in to help us with a hairdressing competition at very short notice.

Michelle was the ultimate professional from the moment I first spoke to her on the telephone, she was very organised and extremely obliging.

She gave us the best of her time and immense talents and during the Gold Coast I.H.S hairdressing championships had to work under extreme pressure in between hair, makeup and clothing changes, in fact, Michelle had no more than 5 minutes to transform our professional models’ makeup from glamorous bridal makeup to a very dramatic catwalk makeup.

Michelle then went on to assist us with the Brisbane competition and the combination of hair, makeup and fashion resulted in us being awarded praise in each section we entered.

I Used Michelle Hargreaves of Mish Mash Makeup to do my special occasion makeup for a 50th anniversary party in early 2007.

I found her to be very professional and well prepared, having all necessary products and equipment.

I am in the beauty industry myself and can be very fussy when it comes to my makeup but I found Michelle was very friendly and attentive in listening to what I was after and achieving the look I wanted. At times this included changing already applied makeup to suit and handling my indecisiveness.
